Did you do commentary for your one episode of Season Three? No, I didn’t. I didn’t do any commentary.
Did you have anything to do with the DVD? Other than that episode, no. I’m here because J.J. asked me to come.
Will you be back, maybe twice next year? Well, I’m on this other show now which is difficult, but I think I
might come back for a couple episodes.
How surprising was it when you found out Will wasn’t coming back? Not that surprising.
Do you feel you got to complete a character arc? Oh yeah. I think that episode in the third season was great.
I’m really glad that we did that. He got to sleep with Sydney and kill Evil Francie and go on a mission and pretend he’s
a rock star.
What opportunities have opened up since you left the show? I just wrapped this movie called The Wedding Crashers
which was a pretty big break for me. And then I’m on this new show called Jack & Bobby on the WB.
What is that show actually. It takes place part in the future, is it sci-fi? No, it’s kind of amazing actually.
It takes place in 2041 but it’s like a retrospective, like Reds. You have these accounts in documentary form of Jack
McAllister and Robert McAllister became the president of the United States. You have the accounts of people talking about
their presidency, like his press secretary, his secretary of defense, his campaign manager. Then you flash back to 2004,
our present day and they’re teenagers, 13 and 15 being raised in Missouri by a single mother. And it’s about how they
became these leaders of the country.
Are you in the present or 2041? I’m in 2004. I play this guy, Tom Wexler Graham who comes from a really wealthy
family, who’s extremely well educated, who works with Christine Lahti in the history department and I become her love
interest.
What did you think of J.J.’s comments that the third season lost its way? I think he’s right on the money.
It was a transition year definitely. They had the two year thing in the storyline that kind of set up for a hard thing
to solve. And Will not being back I think is a big loss. I’m just kidding.
I’m not. I agree with you. What do you think Will is doing now? I think he’s partying a lot in Cabo. I think
he’s running a brothel. I don't know what he’s doing.
What do you play in Wedding Crashers? I play the bad guy. I play the antagonist. I play this really sort of east
coast wasp, who’s Rachel McAdams’ fiancé. Owen falls in love with her and I have an anger problem. It’s going to be
actually a pretty hilarious movie.
